Jacob Yusufov · Copywriter Skills

Every audience can be moved. Knowing how is the job.

Copywriter and marketing consultant. Eight years in psychological operations, three years running editorial, currently building the marketing engine for a proptech startup.

Background

Since 2018 I have served as a psychological operations specialist in the U.S. Army Reserve, building influence campaigns from intelligence reports and briefing their results to senior leadership. The core skill is target audience analysis, a formal method for understanding what an audience believes and what moves them.

The other half of my education was editorial. Running a startup magazine as editor in chief meant shaping strategy, managing creative people, and finding an audience with no budget to buy one. We grew past one million followers and built a paid subscription base on the strength of the work itself. Before and since, I have published more than 2,000 articles for national outlets and newsletters. I have been edited, rejected, published, and read at volume. Reps matter in this craft.

Today the audience is real estate. I lead copy and marketing for a proptech startup, shaping how a CRM for agents and a property data platform talk to one of the toughest, most relationship-driven markets in the country.

Capabilities

Target audience analysis

Guessing is expensive. I use a formal military methodology to profile an audience, their beliefs, conditions, and vulnerabilities.

Copywriting & editing

Landing pages, campaigns, product messaging, email.

Campaign development

One coherent campaign beats ten disconnected assets. I build the whole arc, from first impression to conversion.

Editorial direction

Years of leading writers, editors, and artists. I can help build a content operation or support the one you have.

SEO & content strategy

Content planned around search demand and audience intent, so every published page has a job.

Product marketing

Positioning and go-to-market messaging for software, shaped by daily work inside a startup.

Off duty

I play guitar, write fiction and play chess.
